“I shall live badly, if I do not write. And I shall
write badly, if I do not live.” I don’t know who wrote that, a French
guy, I think. Nevertheless, I concur.
I started this “collection” 16 years ago to this day.
It was an informal process of jotting down my thoughts and feelings. Some
were scraps I gave to my girlfriend (who is now my beloved wife), others were written during times of duress or depression,
and yet others were just written. Some are certainly “better” than
others, but I really couldn’t tell you which ones. Maybe you can tell me? This work is considered incomplete and most likely will remain that way indefinitely
because I believe that repetition is power.
Since my life is a war in which denial is my chorus and nothing comes easy, I will have infinite inspiration.
The difference between the chump and champ is that the chump says, “I can’t take another shot”,
whereas the champ says, “Hit me.”
Ernest Hemmingway once said, “The world is a fine place, and worth fighting for.” I agree with the second part.
